Professional wood finishers choose nitrocellulose lacquers for their beautiful hand-rubbed finishing ability. It is a furniture grade product that lends itself to multi-step applications due to it’s ability to fuse into previous layers—essentially becoming one layer. This is a very forgiving formulation that sprays smoothly without sag or runs, builds fast, and dries quickly. Its flexible surface polishes to a high shine and can be colorized easily for various effects. Our precatalyzed lacquers have a hardening agent added to produce a tough finish that is more impervious to water and alcohol making it ideal for high-use products like cabinetry. It dries to a high shine which requires sanding between coats when applying multiple layers. “Precats” add warmth to wood and provide a rich finish admired by many refinishers. Best applied with high-volume, low pressure spray equipment to reduce bounce back and overspray. Fast drying reduces the chance of bugs and air-borne debris settling into finish.
